About the Role

Veritas Education is working in partnership with a successful secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit an enthusiastic and inspiring English Teacher for a full-time, long-term role starting in September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated English department committed to raising attainment and fostering a love of reading, writing, and literature. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering engaging lessons and helping students develop the literacy skills they need to succeed both academically and beyond the classroom.

Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging English Language and English Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Differentiate learning to support students of varying abilities
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing effective feedback
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and achievement
  • Contribute to departmental planning and enrichment activities
  • The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
  • Has excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Is committed to raising standards and improving student outcomes
  • Can inspire and motivate young people to achieve their potential
