Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Employer: Veritas Education (on behalf of a partner secondary school)
About the Role
Veritas Education is working in partnership with a successful and inclusive secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive Humanities department and inspire students through the study of local, national, and international history. The successful candidate will help students develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deeper understanding of the events that have shaped the modern world.
Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Encourage students to develop their analytical, research, and evaluative skills
- Differentiate lessons to support students of all abilities
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing effective feedback
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
- Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives
- Promote a passion for History both inside and outside the classroom
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching History within a secondary school setting
- Possesses strong subject knowledge and a passion for the subject
- Demonstrates excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Is committed to raising attainment and student achievement
- Has a strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
- ECTs are encouraged to apply
