History Teacher - Full-Time, Long-Term Role

About the Role

Veritas Education is working in partnership with a successful and inclusive secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive Humanities department and inspire students through the study of local, national, and international history. The successful candidate will help students develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deeper understanding of the events that have shaped the modern world.

Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Encourage students to develop their analytical, research, and evaluative skills
  • Differentiate lessons to support students of all abilities
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing effective feedback
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives
  • Promote a passion for History both inside and outside the classroom
  • The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching History within a secondary school setting
  • Possesses strong subject knowledge and a passion for the subject
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Is committed to raising attainment and student achievement
  • Has a strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
  • ECTs are encouraged to apply
