Veritas Education are recruiting on behalf of a specialist primary setting in Billingham for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 from September.
This is a long-term opportunity within a well-resourced school supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties and PMLD.
The Role:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support
- Supporting pupils with communication, sensory and learning needs
- Encouraging engagement, independence and positive behaviours
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and support staff
- Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) would be advantageous but not essential
- Patient, resilient and caring approach
- Backgrounds in education, care, support work or youth work welcomed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
