Inspire a Love of Learning from the Very Start

Veritas Education are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded, nurturing and inclusive primary school in Clitheroe to recruit an enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join their team from September 2026 on a fixed-term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a vibrant school community where children are encouraged to be kind, curious and confident learners. With a strong belief that every child is unique and capable of achieving success, the school provides a stimulating and supportive learning environment where pupils are inspired to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

As the Year 2 Teacher, you will play an important role in preparing pupils for their transition into Key Stage 2 by delivering engaging, creative and ambitious learning experiences. You will foster children's confidence in phonics, reading, writing and mathematics while nurturing independence, resilience and a genuine enthusiasm for learning. Working alongside an experienced and collaborative Key Stage 1 team, you will ensure every child is supported, challenged and celebrated throughout this important stage of their education.

The school is proud of its welcoming family atmosphere and strong community partnerships, where positive relationships with pupils, families and staff are at the heart of everything they do. High expectations are combined with compassion and encouragement, creating an environment where children feel safe, respected and motivated to achieve their very best. Staff wellbeing and professional development are highly valued, with leaders committed to providing ongoing support, high-quality training and opportunities for career progression.

If you're passionate about creating engaging learning experiences and helping young children build the confidence and skills they need for future success, we'd love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have a strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum, including phonics, early reading and end of Key Stage 1 expectations.
  • Deliver engaging, creative and well-structured lessons that inspire every child to enjoy learning.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and consistently high expectations for behaviour, achievement and presentation.
  • Use effective assessment strategies to identify next steps and support individual pupil progress.
  • Build positive and nurturing relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a supportive and dedicated Key Stage 1 team.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and additional learning needs.
  • Be committed to ensuring every child achieves their full academic, social and emotional potential.
  • In return, the school offers:

  • A welcoming, inclusive and caring school community.
  • A supportive and experienced Senior Leadership Team committed to staff success.
  • Friendly, enthusiastic pupils who are eager to learn and achieve.
  • A strong commitment to staff wellbeing, collaboration and work-life balance.
  • High-quality CPD and excellent opportunities for continued professional development.
  • Well-resourced classrooms and engaging learning environments.
  • A positive and collaborative team culture where everyone is valued and supported.
  • Applications are warmly welcomed from both Experienced Teachers and confident Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with relevant EYFS or Key Stage 1 teaching or placement experience.
