Veritas Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming, inclusive and community-centred primary school in Colne, Lancashire, to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 5 Class Teacher for a full-time maternity cover position from September 2026 to February 2027.

The school is seeking a teacher with recent Year 5 experience and a strong understanding of the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum who can quickly become an integral member of the team and make a positive impact from the outset.
The successful candidate will:
- Have recent experience teaching Year 5 or within Upper Key Stage 2.
- Deliver engaging, creative and well-structured lessons that inspire curiosity and a love of learning.
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- Set high expectations for behaviour, progress, presentation and achievement.
- Use effective assessment strategies to identify next steps and support pupil progress.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and additional learning needs.
- Work collaboratively as part of a supportive and dedicated staff team.
- Build positive, professional relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
- Be committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and able to thrive.
