Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs?
We are currently recruiting for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming primary school in Garstang from September. This rewarding role will involve providing dedicated support to a pupil within Key Stage 2, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored one-to-one support to a pupil with additional learning needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external agencies where required.
- Support the pupil academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the school day.
- Implement individual learning and behavioural strategies.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
- Monitor progress and contribute to reviews of support plans.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
✅ Previous Key Stage 2 experience (essential)
✅ Experience supporting children with SEN
✅ Strong communication and relationship-building skills
✅ A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
✅ The ability to adapt learning support to meet individual needs
✅ An enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
