Inspire Young Learners at a Welcoming and Supportive Primary School

Veritas Education are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-regarded and inclusive primary school in Colne to recruit an enthusiastic, nurturing and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join their team from September 2026 on a fixed-term contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a school that is proud of its strong community values and commitment to helping every child thrive. With a warm, supportive atmosphere and a focus on developing the whole child, the school provides an environment where pupils feel safe, valued and inspired to achieve their full potential.

As the Year 2 Teacher, you will play a key role in preparing pupils for the transition into Key Stage 2, delivering engaging and creative lessons that strengthen children's confidence in phonics, reading, writing and mathematics. Working alongside a collaborative and experienced staff team, you will help children build the knowledge, skills and independence they need to become successful lifelong learners.

The school has earned a strong reputation for its nurturing approach to education and its commitment to providing high-quality early learning experiences. Rated 'Good' by Ofsted, the school was recognised for its strong leadership, positive behaviour culture and the excellent support provided for pupils' academic achievement and personal development. Staff wellbeing and professional growth are central to the school's ethos, making this an excellent opportunity for teachers looking to develop their careers in a supportive environment.

If you're passionate about inspiring young learners and making a lasting difference during this important stage of their education, we'd love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging, creative and well-structured lessons that inspire every child to succeed.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a supportive and dedicated staff team.
  • Be committed to helping every child achieve their full academic, social and emotional potential.
  • In return, the school offers:

  • A supportive and experienced Senior Leadership Team.
  • A welcoming, inclusive and community-focused school culture.
  • A strong commitment to staff wellbeing and work-life balance.
  • High-quality CPD and excellent career development opportunities.
  • Well-resourced classrooms and engaging learning environments.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated pupils who enjoy learning.
  • Applications are warmly welcomed from both Experienced Teachers and confident Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with relevant EYFS or Key Stage 1 experience.
