School Wraparound Care Club Playworker - Carnforth Area
Veritas Education is working in partnership with a friendly and welcoming primary school in the Carnforth area, which is launching a brand-new Wraparound Care Club from September.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to help establish and run this exciting provision, supporting children in a safe, engaging and nurturing environment before and after the school day.
Working Hours- Morning Session: 7:30am - 8:45am
- Afternoon Session: 3:15pm - 5:45pm
The school would ideally like one person to cover both sessions, although applications from candidates available for either the morning or afternoon sessions will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting the day-to-day running of the breakfast and after-school club
- Planning and delivering engaging activities for primary-aged children
- Ensuring the safety, wellbeing and enjoyment of all pupils attending
- Creating a positive and inclusive environment
- Assisting with the successful development of this new school provision
Essential Requirements- Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent childcare qualification
- Previous experience working within a wraparound care setting, breakfast club, after-school club, nursery, childcare or primary school environment
- Experience supervising groups of children independently
- A proactive, organised and reliable approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
Desirable- Experience helping to establish or develop a new childcare provision
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child development
