???? About the Role
A welcoming and supportive school in Garstang is looking to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, providing tailored assistance to help them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO, offering both 1:1 support and small group interventions in a positive and inclusive environment.
???? Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual (1:1) support for pupils with SEN
- Deliver small group interventions to support learning and development
- Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
- Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in the classroom
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
✅ Requirements
- Experience working with children, ideally within an SEN or school setting
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
⭐ Desirable
- Experience supporting SEN pupils
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification)
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies or interventions
