???? About the Role
A friendly and inclusive primary school in Poulton-le-Fylde is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within Key Stage 2 (KS2) from September.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children who require additional support, providing both 1:1 and small group assistance to help them access the curriculum and thrive in a supportive environment.
???? Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for KS2 pupils with Special Educational Needs
- Deliver small group interventions to support academic and social development
- Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
- Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning materials
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Support the overall wellbeing and development of pupils
✅ Requirements
- Experience working with children, ideally in a school or SEN setting
- Understanding of KS2 curriculum
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
⭐ Desirable
- Experience supporting SEN pupils in KS2
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification)
- Knowledge of intervention strategies and behaviour support
