Specialist Teaching Assistant

Long-Term Temporary | Full-Time or Part-Time

Start September 2026

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialist Teaching Assistant to support young people in a nurturing educational setting in Darlington. This provision offers a structured, pupil-focused environment with small class sizes, strong pastoral support, and a commitment to helping students overcome barriers to learning.

The Role:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Assisting with learning, emotional regulation and behaviour support
  • Working closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored interventions
  • About You:

  • Experience supporting young people with ASD, SEMH, trauma, anxiety or ADHD is highly advantageous
  • Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
