Behaviour Support Assistant Required - Lambeth Secondary School
A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
Working closely with students who require additional behavioural and emotional support, you will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, engagement, and academic progress across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support to students.
- Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and participation.
- Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs both inside and outside the classroom.
- Work alongside teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SEN professionals to implement behaviour support strategies.
- Assist in managing challenging behaviour in line with the school's policies.
- Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, mentoring, coaching, or support setting.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- A calm, resilient, and proactive approach.
- The ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
