About the Role
An ambitious and inspiring Head of Science to lead a committed and forward-thinking department in a secondary school in Redbridge. The Department
You will lead a skilled and collaborative team of teachers with strong subject knowledge and a shared commitment to excellence. The department benefits from:

Science is popular at KS4 and KS5, with strong uptake and enthusiasm for STEM-related opportunities.
As Head of Science, you will:
- provide strategic leadership for the department, shaping vision and direction
- lead on teaching and learning, ensuring consistently high-quality classroom practice
- monitor and evaluate student progress, using data to drive improvement
- support and develop colleagues through coaching, mentoring, and effective line management
- contribute to whole-school priorities, including behaviour, safeguarding, and school improvement
- promote a culture of aspiration, inclusion, and achievement for all students
These responsibilities align with the wider expectations of school leadership, including curriculum development, staff management, and raising standards across the school.
