A supportive and inclusive primary school in Shepherds Bush is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This SEN Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups across the primary age range. This SEN Teaching Assistant position is ideal for graduates looking to gain valuable school-based experience before teacher training, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or SEN specialism routes. It is also an excellent opportunity for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants looking to further their career within a nurturing and well-resourced school environment.

The school has a strong focus on inclusion and provides outstanding support for pupils with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Staff work collaboratively to create a calm, engaging, and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:

* Be passionate about supporting children with SEN* Have a calm, patient, and positive approach* Be adaptable, resilient, and proactive as an SEN Teaching Assistant* Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents* Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups* Work effectively as part of a supportive SEN team

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

* Support pupils with SEN to access learning within the classroom* Deliver targeted interventions as an SEN Teaching Assistant* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress* Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction* Help create a positive and engaging learning environment* Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour

Person Specification for the SEN Teaching Assistant:

* Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable* Experience supporting pupils with SEN is beneficial* A degree or equivalent qualification is preferred* Strong communication and teamwork skills* A genuine passion for SEN and primary education* A positive attitude and willingness to learn as an SEN Teaching Assistant
