Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs?
Veritas Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded all-through specialist provision in Middlesbrough, seeking to appoint a qualified SEN Teacher on a permanent, full-time basis starting September 2026.
This specialist setting supports pupils aged primary through to post-16, all with a range of complex learning difficulties, including moderate to severe learning needs, ASD, and associated communication challenges.
The school offers a highly personalised curriculum, centred around:
- Academic development (adapted pathways)
- Communication and interaction
- Independence and life skills
- Preparation for adulthood
Pupils follow a mix of formal and semi-formal pathways, with a strong emphasis on engagement, functional learning, and holistic development.
As an SEN Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver adapted, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
- Support pupils working at a range of developmental and cognitive levels
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral teams
- Track and monitor progress using EHCP targets and personalised outcomes
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
We are looking for:
- A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS essential)
- Experience working with SEN learners, ideally in a specialist setting
- Strong understanding of differentiation and personalised learning
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Passion for supporting pupils with complex needs and barriers to learning
