Are you a patient, resilient and compassionate practitioner with a passion for supporting children with complex needs? We are recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Pontefract, supporting pupils who require consistent, nurturing and highly individualised support to thrive.
???? About the Role
You will be working within mainstream and specialist primary settings, supporting children with a range of complex needs. Your responsibilities may include:
- 1:1 and small‑group support - helping pupils access learning at their own pace
- Supporting communication, sensory and emotional needs
- Using positive behaviour strategies to support pupils with challenging behaviour
- Creating a safe, structured and engaging learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
- Supporting personal care routines, where required
