We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEMH Secondary School in Dorking, Surrey, starting in June 2026.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who require additional emotional, social, and behavioural support to achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Work closely with teaching staff to create a positive and engaging learning environment
- Provide one-to-one and small group support inside and outside the classroom
- Help students develop confidence, resilience, and positive relationships
- Encourage emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour strategies
Requirements
- Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service is essential
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working within an SEN or SEMH setting is desirable but not essential
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
