Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate School Cook to join a specialist SEN school in Ormskirk. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals for pupils with a range of additional needs, ensuring all dietary, sensory, and medical requirements are met in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals in line with school standards
- Cater for allergies, intolerances, and specialist diets
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Manage stock, deliveries, and food storage
- Work collaboratively with school staff to support pupils' needs
- Help create a calm and positive mealtime experience
Requirements
- Previous cooking experience (school, care, or similar setting preferred)
- Level 2 Food Hygiene (or willingness to obtain)
- Understanding of dietary needs and allergens
- A patient, flexible, and team-focused approach
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
