About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated English Teacher to join a specialist SEN secondary school in Orpington. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to supporting students with additional needs to develop confidence, communication skills, and a love of learning.
You will be teaching English at Key Stage 3, delivering structured, engaging, and accessible lessons tailored to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and associated learning difficulties. The role is available for an ASAP start or from September, depending on candidate availability.
This is a permanent position, ideal for a teacher seeking long-term stability within a supportive and specialist setting.
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A strong academic background in English or a related field
- Experience teaching English at KS3 (SEN experience desirable but not essential)
- A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
- Ability to differentiate learning to meet a range of additional needs
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and high-quality SEN provision
