About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and resilient Teacher to join an Alternative Provision setting in Ormskirk, working with pupils in Years 10 and 11.
This is a varied role, delivering English, PSHE, Drama, and general cover lessons to students who may be disengaged from mainstream education. You'll play a key role in rebuilding confidence, supporting behaviour, and helping pupils achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and adaptable lessons across English, PSHE, Drama, and general subjects
- Differentiate teaching to meet a range of needs, including SEMH
- Manage behaviour effectively and create a calm, supportive environment
- Track and monitor pupil progress
- Build strong relationships to support engagement and wellbeing
- Work closely with staff, families, and external professionals
What We're Looking For
- QTS (or equivalent) - unqualified teachers with relevant experience considered
- Experience teaching at secondary level (KS4 desirable)
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Experience with SEMH or Alternative Provision (desirable)
- A flexible, patient, and resilient approach
- Passion for supporting young people who need additional support
