Trust Management Accountant - Work via Veritas Education
Veritas Education is supporting a respected Multi-Academy Trust in West Yorkshire in recruiting an experienced Trust Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant to play a key role in delivering high‑quality financial reporting and supporting strategic financial decision‑making across a multi‑school organisation.
The Role
As Trust Management Accountant, you will lead the production of monthly management accounts, consolidated financial reporting and cashflow forecasting for the Trust. You'll monitor budget performance, investigate variances, maintain robust financial controls and ensure the accuracy of key ledger postings, including prepayments, accruals, payroll journals and GAG reconciliations. You will also support treasury management, procurement activity, and the coordination of external audit requirements, ensuring compliance with the Academy Trust Handbook and the Trust's financial regulations.
What We're Looking For
You will need:
- AAT Level 4, or part/fully qualified CCAB/CIMA/ACCA
- Experience preparing management accounts and consolidated financial reports
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, investigate and resolve variances
- Experience posting journals (payroll, GAG, prepayments, accruals)
- Excellent accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines
- Confident communication skills and the ability to liaise professionally with schools and senior leaders
- Knowledge of VAT, audit preparation and financial regulations (desirable)
