Primary schools across the Wakefield (WF) area are seeking experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to provide high‑quality classroom support and deliver planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled practitioners who enjoy variety and can adapt quickly to different year groups and school environments.
???? Role Overview
- Cover whole‑class teaching across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 when required.
- Deliver engaging lessons using pre‑prepared plans to ensure continuity of learning.
- Support pupils with a range of abilities and needs, maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and school leaders to uphold high standards of behaviour and learning.
- Provide small‑group interventions and targeted support where needed.
✔️ What We're Looking For
- Qualified HLTA or equivalent experience working at HLTA level.
- Confidence in leading a class independently and following existing lesson plans.
- Strong behaviour management and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Flexibility to work across multiple primary schools within the Wakefield area.
- A proactive, reliable, and professional approach.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
