Veritas Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a welcoming primary school in Morecambe. This is a full-time, term-time role working closely with two pupils in EYFS who each have an EHCP or a pending EHCP. The position will run from the end of the Easter break until July.
About the Role
You will work as part of the Early Years team, providing tailored support to two pupils with additional needs. This includes assisting with learning activities, emotional regulation, communication, and helping to ensure the children are fully included in all aspects of classroom life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for two EYFS pupils with EHCPs or pending EHCPs
- Assist the class teacher with implementing personalised strategies and interventions
- Help create a nurturing, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Support pupils with communication, social development and routines
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals as needed
Requirements
- Experience working with children in EYFS or within a primary school setting
- Understanding of supporting children with additional needs / EHCPs
- A patient, caring, and proactive approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
