Start: As Soon As Possible - Until End of Academic Year Working through Veritas Education
Veritas Education is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Burnley. This is a full-time position starting immediately and running through to the end of the academic year.
The school is seeking a confident DT specialist who can deliver high‑quality lessons across the full Design Technology curriculum, ensuring pupils are engaged, supported, and making progress in a practical and creative environment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be expected to teach across a range of DT specialisms, which may include:
- Product Design
- Resistant Materials
- Graphics
- Engineering
- Textiles
- Food Technology (desirable but not essential)
You will deliver engaging lessons, maintain a safe workshop environment, and support pupils of varying abilities.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant DT teaching qualification
- Strong knowledge of the DT curriculum at KS3 and KS4
- Ability to plan and deliver creative, practical lessons
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
