Are you looking for a flexible, part-time SEN Teaching Assistant role in Preston?
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in a supportive and inclusive school setting. This part-time opportunity is ideal for candidates seeking a consistent weekly schedule while making a meaningful difference in children's education.
We welcome applications from experienced SEN Teaching Assistants as well as individuals with relevant transferable skills or a strong interest in working within SEN education.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities aligned with the National Curriculum.
Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
Support students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
Implement effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
Monitor and record student progress, feeding back to teachers and SENCO.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals.
Demonstrate patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude towards supporting individual learning needs.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based or transferable experience).
Be confident supporting students with additional learning, behavioural, or emotional needs.
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Show flexibility, empathy, and a genuine passion for inclusive education.
Be reliable and committed to the specified part-time schedule.

Enhanced DBS Disclosure (or willingness to obtain one).
Professional references covering recent employment.
CV covering the last 10 years of employment history (where possible), with any gaps explained.
Legal right to work in the UK.
Willingness to attend a registration/interview process.
