Year 2 Teacher - Long Term Role Location: Romford Full-Time Long-Term Opportunity Posted by Veritas Education

Veritas Education is proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded and well-established primary school in Romford to recruit a dedicated and experienced Year 2 Teacher for a long-term position.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive, forward-thinking school with a strong reputation for academic achievement, excellent behaviour standards, and a genuine commitment to staff wellbeing.

The Role

We are seeking a confident and skilled Key Stage 1 teacher to take on a Year 2 class on a long-term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that support pupils in reaching end-of-Key-Stage expectations and preparing effectively for KS1 SATs.

The school has clear planning structures, shared resources, and a collaborative approach across the year group to ensure consistency and reduce workload. You will be joining an experienced and supportive KS1 team who work closely together to maintain high standards and positive outcomes.

This role would suit a teacher who is secure in assessment, understands the importance of data-informed teaching, and can confidently support pupils of varying abilities to make strong progress.

About the School

The school is a large, community-focused primary setting at the heart of Romford. It is known for:

  • A strong and approachable senior leadership team
  • A well-sequenced and structured curriculum
  • Consistently good pupil behaviour and attitudes to learning
  • Modern facilities and well-resourced classrooms
  • A collaborative and welcoming staff culture
  • A clear focus on professional development and staff support
  • The school places great emphasis on creating a positive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. Staff benefit from clear systems, shared planning frameworks, and a leadership team that understands the importance of manageable workload.

    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for:

  • A qualified teacher with strong KS1 experience
  • A practitioner confident in Year 2 curriculum expectations
  • Experience preparing pupils for KS1 SATs
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A reflective and organised approach to assessment and planning
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • ECTs may be considered if they have completed placements in Year 2 and can demonstrate strong curriculum knowledge, although experienced teachers are highly desirable.

    What's on Offer

  • Long-term stability within a reputable school
  • Supportive and experienced parallel teachers
  • Strong leadership guidance
  • Engaged and well-behaved pupils
  • Competitive daily rates through Veritas Education
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated Veritas consultant
  • This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Year 2 teacher looking to secure a long-term role within a thriving Romford primary school that values both pupil outcomes and staff wellbeing.

If you are ready to take on a rewarding Year 2 teaching role in a supportive and ambitious setting, apply today through Veritas Education or call us on 02030266150.
