Year 1 Teacher (Part-Time - Job Share) Location: Romford 2 Days per Week (Thursday & Friday) Long-Term Opportunity Posted by Veritas Education
Veritas Education is delighted to be working with a welcoming and well-established primary school in Romford to recruit an experienced Year 1 Teacher for a part-time job share role, working Thursdays and Fridays.
This is a long-term position within a supportive and forward-thinking school community that prides itself on maintaining high standards of teaching and learning, while fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for all pupils.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced KS1 teacher to join a strong Year 1 team in a well-organised and collaborative setting. The successful candidate will work alongside an established job-share partner, ensuring consistency and continuity for pupils across the week.
This role would suit a confident classroom practitioner who is secure in their knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and has a strong understanding of phonics, early reading, and age-related expectations in Year 1.
Importantly, there is no end-of-year report writing required, making this an especially attractive opportunity for a teacher seeking excellent work-life balance while remaining in a fulfilling classroom role.
About the School
The school is a large, community-focused primary setting at the heart of Romford. It has:
- A strong and supportive senior leadership team
- A clear and well-structured curriculum
- Excellent behaviour standards and a positive learning culture
- Modern facilities and well-resourced classrooms
- A collaborative staff team that values teamwork and professional dialogue
- A commitment to staff wellbeing and manageable workload
The school has built a reputation locally for its inclusive ethos and dedication to ensuring every child achieves their full potential, both academically and personally. Staff are supported through effective planning systems and shared resources, allowing teachers to focus on high-quality teaching rather than excessive administration.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for:
- A qualified teacher with solid KS1 experience
- A confident practitioner (ECTs will not be considered for this post)
- Strong knowledge of phonics and early literacy development
- A positive and proactive attitude
- Excellent classroom management skills
- A team player who can communicate effectively with colleagues and parents
The school is particularly keen to appoint someone who can quickly integrate into the team and maintain the high standards already established within the year group.
What's on Offer
- Long-term, stable employment
- A supportive and experienced parallel teacher
- No end-of-year report writing responsibilities
- Well-behaved and enthusiastic pupils
- Competitive daily rates through Veritas Education
- Ongoing support from a dedicated Veritas consultant
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher seeking a part-time position in a reputable Romford primary school with a strong community ethos and excellent leadership.
If you are an experienced Year 1 teacher looking for a rewarding part-time role with excellent support and manageable workload, we would love to hear from you.
