Inclusion Support Assistant - Primary School
Location: Wakefield Start Date: Easter
We are seeking a caring, committed, and enthusiastic Inclusion Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusion and supporting children to reach their full potential in a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
The Role
As an Inclusion Support Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with additional needs across the primary age range
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to implement support strategies
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and emotional wellbeing
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children in a primary school setting
- Has a good understanding of SEN and inclusion (ASD, SEMH, ADHD, etc.)
- Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Works well as part of a team and uses their own initiative
