Veritas Education is working in partnership with a well-established and highly regarded primary school in Romford that is seeking an experienced Year 2 Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from after half term.

The school is a one-form entry primary with a warm, inclusive feel and a strong sense of community. It is a place where children are well known, well supported, and encouraged to develop both academically and personally. The leadership team is visible, approachable, and highly supportive, placing great value on staff wellbeing, teamwork, and professional respect. Behaviour across the school is positive, with clear routines and high expectations that allow learning to take place in a calm and purposeful environment.

The successful teacher will take responsibility for a settled and well-supported Year 2 class, delivering engaging and structured lessons across the curriculum, with a particular focus on core subjects such as English and Maths. There is a strong emphasis on meeting the needs of all learners, including pupils who may require additional support, and working collaboratively with support staff and senior leaders to ensure consistent progress.

The school is looking for a teacher who:

  • Is an experienced Primary Teacher (applications from ECTs cannot be considered)
  • Has proven experience teaching Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and confident classroom practice
  • Has effective behaviour management strategies and clear expectations
  • Is organised, reflective, and able to quickly establish positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Is committed to maintaining high standards while providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  • In return, the school offers:

  • A full-time teaching role in a friendly and supportive setting
  • A collaborative staff team that values consistency and professionalism
  • Strong leadership support and clear systems already in place
  • Competitive daily pay of £180-£245, depending on experience
  • This role would suit a confident and capable teacher who is looking for a rewarding full-time position in a school where staff are valued and children are at the heart of everything they do.
