Specialist 1:1 Support
Veritas Education are working with a special needs school within the Leeds area who are recruiting for a specialist 1:1 Support staff member. This role is a long term contract based, but there are permanent opportunities available as well.
This staff member needs to be comfortable supporting the following needs and requirements:
- Learning Needs - Experience supporting Autism and other learning needs is essential for this role, due to the complexity of the learner's requirements, an experienced staff member who knows how to support, care and manage additional needs is key.
- Personal Care - Must be comfortable assisting with personal care, hygiene support and changing requirements, due to the learners complex learning/medical background, they need support in these areas.
- Behaviour - The ideal candidate will be confident in managing challenging behaviour, and able to help de-escalate and calm situations down when learners become at risk, volatile or aggressive/lash out. (Additional training by Veritas Education can be provided).
- Reliable - Due to the nature of the role being 1:1 based, the school are needing a reliable and committed candidate, someone who will show up every day, show pro-activity in the role and be a consistent support staff member for the allocated student.
