Teaching Assistant Needed for Key Stage 2 - Primary School in Preston
We are currently working with a welcoming primary school in Preston who are looking for an experienced Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role involves supporting pupils across KS2, with a focus on helping children with additional learning needs to engage, progress, and thrive.
About the role:
You'll be supporting children across Key Stage 2, providing both classroom-based and targeted small‑group support. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils during lessons to help them access the curriculum
- Delivering small‑group interventions in areas such as reading, writing, and maths
- Assisting with behaviour regulation and promoting positive learning behaviours
- Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and social skills
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to implement support strategies
Who we're looking for:
- A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- At least 6 months of experience supporting children within a school setting, ideally KS2
- Confidence in working with children with additional learning or behavioural needs
- A positive, patient, and proactive attitude
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed throughout their primary education
Bonus if you have:
- Experience delivering KS2 interventions
- Knowledge of support strategies for children with SEND
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Ongoing support from Veritas Consultant Skye Harrison.
