- Position: Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant
- Location: Barnet, North London
- Salary: £2,240- £2,290
- Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term, 8:30am-4pm

About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive two-form entry primary school in Barnet. This Ofsted-rated Outstanding school is committed to providing high-quality education and tailored support for every child. You will play a vital role in supporting pupils across the primary age range, including those with Special Educational Needs, ensuring they make progress both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and small-group support for pupils, including those with SEN and additional learning needs.
- Assist with core subjects such as phonics, literacy, and numeracy, using scaffolding techniques to help pupils access learning.
- Lead targeted intervention groups to accelerate progress in key areas.
- Work closely with class teachers and the SEN team to implement personalised learning strategies and Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Support pupils with social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour and resilience.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and parents where appropriate.
- Maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
What We're Looking For- Previous classroom experience in a primary school setting (Reception or KS1 preferred).
- Proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, including speech and language delays, autism, or ADHD.
- Knowledge of intervention strategies, scaffolding techniques, and differentiated learning approaches.
- A valid Child Workforce DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Excellent communication skills, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
