Job Title: Science Teacher Location: West Drayton, London (Alternative Provision for 11-18 year olds) Contract Type: Permanent Working Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday Pay: £180-£240 per day (dependent on experience)
We are a caring and inclusive alternative-provision setting based in West Drayton. We support young people aged 11-18 who are unable to thrive in mainstream education - working with them to reengage with learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential in a supportive, trauma-informed environment. Our ethos is centred around compassion, resilience, inclusion and personalised support.
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join our team on a permanent basis. In this role you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, practical and differentiated Science lessons to students at Key Stages 3-5
- Adapt teaching to meet individual needs - including emotional, social, behavioural or additional learning needs - helping students reengage and succeed
- Provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom where students feel valued, respected and motivated
- Collaborate with pastoral and support staff to contribute to each learner's broader wellbeing and progress
- Help foster a positive school culture that encourages growth, confidence and personal development
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent - or substantial experience teaching Science in secondary or alternative provision settings
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics
- Experience or willingness to work with students who have additional needs (e.g. SEMH, behavioural or social challenges) - though support and training will be provided
- Excellent communication, empathy, patience and classroom-management skills
- A flexible, caring and student-centred approach
