Location: Croydon, South London Start Date: January 2026 Pay: £95 - £115 per day
Veritas Education is working with a warm and inclusive primary school in Croydon to recruit a dedicated and caring Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026.
This OFSTED-rated 'Good' school is well known for its nurturing ethos and strong commitment to ensuring every child thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, providing both one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils access learning, build confidence, and form positive relationships in the classroom.
This role is ideal for a patient, motivated, and empathetic individual who is passionate about supporting children to flourish in an engaging and inclusive primary school environment.
The Ideal Primary Teaching Assistant Will Have:
Proven experience supporting children in a primary school setting (essential)
Knowledge of strategies that support learning, communication, and behaviour
Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with children with additional needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and families
Main Responsibilities Include:
Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
Assisting the class teacher with delivering differentiated learning activities
Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
Using creative strategies and resources to increase engagement and understanding
Monitoring pupil progress and sharing observations with the class teacher and SENCO
Helping maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
