Location: Sunderland School Type: Mixed Secondary (11-16) Contract: Long-Term Temporary Start Date: January 2026 Duration: Until July 2026 (with potential extension) Pay: £165-£240 per day
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Sunderland. This is an exciting opportunity to teach KS3 and KS4 English Language and Literature in a school that prides itself on creating a calm, purposeful atmosphere where every child experiences excellence every day.
The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running, delivering high-quality lessons and supporting students to achieve their best. While the school offers outstanding support, confidence and competence in the classroom are essential.
What You'll Do:
- Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons to students aged 11-16.
- Inspire a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking.

What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and proven experience teaching English at KS3 & KS4.
- Ability to plan and deliver lessons that meet high standards of teaching and learning.
- Strong classroom management skills and a proactive approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain - we can assist).
