Veritas Education is recruiting an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hackney. This role is ideal for someone with strong classroom experience who is passionate about supporting pupils' learning and development.
About the Role
You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the school, helping to create an engaging, positive and nurturing learning environment. Your day-to-day duties may include working with small groups, delivering targeted interventions, and assisting with whole-class activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-class support to teachers and pupils.
- Work with individuals and small groups to help reinforce learning.
- Assist with phonics, literacy, numeracy and general classroom tasks.
- Help maintain a calm, organised and inclusive learning environment.
- Support pupils with varying abilities and learning needs.
- Build strong, professional relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
Requirements
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting is essential.
- Confident supporting pupils across different age groups.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive, proactive and adaptable approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
