Learning Support Assistant - Medical PRU (Primary & Secondary)
Location: Sutton, London Pay: £110.80 per day Contract: Full-time, Term-time
Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a specialist setting? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join a Medical Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Sutton, supporting students across Primary and Secondary age groups.
What is a Medical PRU?A Medical PRU is a specialist educational provision for children and young people who cannot attend mainstream school due to medical conditions, including physical health issues or mental health challenges. These settings provide tailored education and emotional support, helping students maintain progress and prepare for reintegration or transition to their next educational stage.
Your Role & Responsibilities:- Provide individualised academic and emotional support to students with medical needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning plans.
- Support students in managing their health needs while accessing education.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, healthcare professionals, and families.
- Occasionally accompany students to off-site activities or appointments.
Requirements:- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Previous experience in SEND or alternative provision (desired).
- Ability to build positive relationships and manage challenging behaviour calmly.
- Enhanced DBS (required prior to start).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
