Headteacher Location: Fulham Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £80,000 - £95,000 per annum (dependent on experience) Start Date: February 2026
About the Role
An independent specialist education setting in Fulham is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Headteacher to lead the school through its next stage of development. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring high standards of education, safeguarding, and staff development.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established leader who can take initiative, drive improvement, and oversee both educational and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inspirational leadership and day-to-day management of approximately 45 staff.
- Oversee the education and wellbeing of 37 pupils, with capacity to grow to 55.
- Lead and prepare for Ofsted and Independent School Standards (ISS) inspections.
- Develop and implement a three-year strategic plan to support school growth and improvement.
- Ensure full compliance with safeguarding and child protection regulations.
- Conduct internal audits and lead quality assurance processes.
- Take responsibility for operational management, reducing reliance on the CEO.
- Research and introduce new initiatives and best practices to improve educational and business outcomes.
Person Specification
- Qualified and experienced school leader.
- Minimum two years' experience in a private or independent school.
- Demonstrated success in leading Ofsted or ISS inspections.
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience.
- Proven ability to manage large teams and inspire a positive workplace culture.
- Strategic thinker with experience in planning and implementing school improvement.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Confident, proactive, and solutions-focused leader.
