Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (Until Christmas in the first instance) Start Date: Immediate Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Veritas Education is proud to be working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity, initially running until the Christmas break, with the potential for extension.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will support students with a range of special educational needs (SEN), both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to ensure that pupils receive the tailored support they need to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
- Promote inclusion and encourage independence
- Support classroom activities and help manage behaviour positively
- Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies as required
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in school or similar settings)
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
