Veritas Education are excited to be supporting a vibrant, one-form entry Primary School in Islington with the recruitment of a dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant. This rewarding role will provide tailored support to a student with special educational needs, helping them to thrive and engage fully in their learning.
Role Overview: As a SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a specific student, providing both academic and emotional support throughout the school day. The role requires patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with children who have additional needs. You will collaborate with the class teacher and the school's SENCO to ensure the student has the best possible learning experience and is fully included in classroom activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for a student with SEN
Assist in delivering tailored interventions and differentiated learning
Help the student to engage with their peers and participate in class activities
Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Assist with behaviour management strategies as needed
Requirements:
Previous experience supporting children with SEN is essential
Passion for working in education and making a difference in the lives of young learners
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
A proactive and patient approach to supporting children with additional needs
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
