A thriving mainstream secondary school in Hackney is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their SEN support team. This is a full-time, term-time role ideal for someone who wants to gain hands-on experience in a classroom before progressing into teacher training, educational psychology, or SEN-focused careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) across KS3 and KS4
- Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions
- Assist teachers in mainstream classrooms to ensure inclusive learning
- Help implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Person Specification:
- Degree-level qualification
- Passion for education and supporting young people
- Interest in SEN, inclusion, or educational psychology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
