Design & Technology Teacher - Rossendale (Long-Term Supply Role)
Start Date: ASAP Location: Rossendale Contract Type: Full-time, Long-Term Supply Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are currently recruiting for a qualified Design & Technology Teacher (QTS) to join a secondary school in Rossendale on a long-term supply basis, starting as soon as possible.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a school that values creativity, innovation, and practical learning. The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and well-resourced department, delivering engaging DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in Design & Technology, including areas such as Resistant Materials, Graphics, Product Design, or Engineering (depending on specialism)
- Supporting students in developing practical skills and theoretical understanding
- Preparing materials and resources for lessons and practical sessions
- Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback
- Maintaining a safe and organised workshop/classroom environment
- Contributing to departmental planning and school-wide initiatives
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
- A degree or specialism in Design & Technology or a related subject
- Recent experience teaching DT in a UK secondary school
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A passion for hands-on learning and student engagement
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and confident Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain valuable experience in a supportive school setting.
