SEND Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)
Location: Greenwich | Contract: Full-Time | Salary: Competitive, based on experience
A leading secondary school in Greenwich is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a student with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a student across all aspects of school life. Your focus will be on:
Assisting with emotional regulation, executive functioning, and smooth transitions throughout the school day
Encouraging independence and promoting well-being in both academic and social contexts
Working closely with teaching staff, the SENCo, parents, therapists, and external agencies to deliver consistent, student-centred support
Monitoring, recording, and reporting on progress, engagement, and well-being

About You
We are looking for a patient, empathetic, and resilient individual with:
Previous experience working with young people with ASC and/or ADHD
A good understanding of self-regulation strategies and familiarity with approaches such as Zones of Regulation, sensory integration, or CBT-informed strategies
A strong commitment to inclusive education and supporting learners with additional needs
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Formal qualifications in SEND or related fields are desirable but not essential.
