One-to-One SEN Teaching Assistant - Lancaster Full-Time - Term Time Only, Monday-Friday, 08:45-15:15 Location: Lancaster Sector: Education - Special Educational Needs (SEN) Start Date: ASAP
Veritas Education is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate One-to-One SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Key Stage 1 with an EHCP for non-verbal autism, based in a welcoming primary school in Lancaster.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with non-verbal autism
Supporting communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
Implementing strategies in line with the pupil's EHCP
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday
08:30 - 15:30
Term Time Only
What We're Looking For:
Experience supporting children with autism (ideally non-verbal)
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience using communication tools like Makaton is desirable but not essential
Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support are advantageous
Ideal for:
Experienced TAs, SEN specialists, or those with a background in care or youth work looking to transition into education.
