Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) Location: Primary School, Haringey Start Date: ASAP Contract: Long term Hours: Full-time
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our primary school in Haringey. This role involves providing 1:1 support to two individual students with additional needs, as well as assisting other children who require extra support throughout the school day.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SENCo to deliver tailored support, helping children to access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised 1:1 support to two named pupils with SEN, helping them engage fully in class activities.
- Support other pupils who require additional help with learning, behavior, or social skills.
- Assist in planning and delivering intervention strategies under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo.
- Help promote independence and confidence in students.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and liaise with teaching staff and parents as required.
- Support pupils during unstructured times such as lunch or break when needed.
Person Specification:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a primary school setting.
- Understanding of different SEN needs and strategies to support them.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A positive and flexible approach to work.
