Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Hackney Primary School
Location: Hackney, East London Start Date: ASAP Trial Dates: In two weeks' time Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Salary: Competitive, based on experience
A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Hackney is seeking an experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team as soon as possible.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and capable HLTA who can take on whole-class cover, support targeted interventions, and contribute to the overall learning and development of pupils across the school.
The Role:
- Delivering planned lessons across KS1 and/or KS2 in the absence of the class teacher
- Leading small group interventions in core subjects (Reading, Writing, Maths)
- Supporting classroom learning in collaboration with teachers and other support staff
- Assisting with planning and assessment as appropriate
- Contributing to the wider school community and pastoral care of pupils
Candidate Requirements:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum (KS1 and/or KS2)
- Experience delivering lessons and managing a class independently
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A flexible, proactive and professional attitude
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of all pupils
