SEN Teaching Assistant - Complex Needs Location: Deptford, London Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term Salary: £110- £130 a day
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a strong background in supporting children with complex needs? Are you confident in managing challenging behaviour and committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people from diverse and vulnerable backgrounds?
We are working with a specialist school in Deptford that is seeking a resilient, skilled, and compassionate SEN TA to join their dedicated team from September 2025.
The Role:
You will be working closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and complex trauma backgrounds. Your role will involve:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support in and out of the classroom
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour
- Implementing personalised learning and behaviour plans
- Supporting emotional regulation and social development
- Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate:
✔ Proven experience working with children with complex SEND and/or social, emotional and mental health needs ✔ Confident in behaviour management and handling conflict or incidents of aggression in a calm and professional manner ✔ Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and trauma-informed practices ✔ Strong communication skills and emotional resilience ✔ Team player with a passion for inclusive education
This role would suit someone with a background in alternative provision, PRUs, specialist settings, or relevant therapeutic roles.
