Are you a dedicated Early Years professional with a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare? Do you have the skills and passion to lead and inspire others in a nurturing, community-focused environment?
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Early Years Lead Practitioner to join our vibrant, community-run nursery in Wakefield. This is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your early years career and play a key role in shaping high-quality learning experiences for children aged 0-5.
About the Role:
As Lead Practitioner, you'll work closely with the nursery manager and team to deliver outstanding early years provision. You'll be a role model to staff, support planning and observations, and help ensure the children receive the very best care and education every day.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead by example in delivering excellent early years practice in line with the EYFS
Support and mentor staff in planning, observations, and child development
Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and the wider community
Help ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Support the day-to-day running of the nursery alongside senior staff
What We're Looking For:
A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (essential)
Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting
Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
A confident, caring, and proactive leader with excellent communication skills
A commitment to inclusive, child-led learning and safeguarding
