An outstanding SEN school in Lewisham is looking for a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in September. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children with a variety of learning needs including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties in a nurturing and well-resourced environment.
✅ Requirements:
Previous experience working in an SEN setting or with children with additional needs (preferred)
A clean, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain a new one
A patient, proactive, and flexible approach to learning support
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
???? Roles & Responsibilities:
Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups with learning and behaviour
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support plans
Assisting with daily classroom tasks and creating a positive learning environment
Supporting pupils with personal care (where applicable)
Encouraging social interaction and helping develop emotional regulation strategies
Monitoring progress and reporting observations to the teaching team
Promoting inclusion and helping students access the full curriculum
