Job Title: One-to-One Teaching Assistant Location: Carnforth Contract: Full-Time Start Date: ASAP Salary: £15 per hour
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate One-to-One Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive school community in Carnforth. This is a full-time position, ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child's education and development. The role involves providing tailored support to a pupil with additional learning needs. Ideally the candidate is to be Team Teach trained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with specific learning needs, ensuring they can access the full curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other staff members to plan and deliver personalised learning activities.
- Monitor and report on the pupil's progress, adapting strategies as needed in consultation with the SENCO and teaching team.
- Assist with personal care, mobility, or behaviour management, where appropriate.
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support classroom routines, transitions, and school-wide activities.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) is highly desirable.
- A collaborative, flexible attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are advantageous but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and suitable references.
